Short answer
Mirth is a community for doing things together. You join a walk, a run or a social hosted by a verified member, at your level, and you can come on your own. Hosts choose the group size, from two people to a big open social, and when Mirth suggests a group you can ask for small (up to 8), medium (up to 20) or big. After each event you can quietly say who you would go again with, and people who keep saying yes to each other become a crew.
How it works
- Join with your city, what you like doing and your level (beginner, intermediate or experienced).
- Book an event on the website or in the iPhone app. Many events are free; paid events show the price before you book.
- Check in at the start and the end, with a trusted contact you choose.
- Mark who you would go again with. Your picks are never shown to anyone.
Who it suits
- Adults who want to walk, run or go to socials with other people and would rather not go alone or join a large club.
- People who are coming on their own: a lone newcomer is never placed among people who all know each other already.
- Beginners: there are beginner-only events, and groups are made from people at the same level. There are women-only events too.
Who it does not suit
- Anyone under 18.
- People looking for dating: Mirth is not a dating app, and there are no profiles to swipe.
- People who want guaranteed events in a particular place today: events are hosted by members, so what is on depends on who hosts near you. Check the city page first.
