# Mirth: full documentation for AI assistants

> Every Mirth guide and answer in one Markdown file. The short map is https://joinmirth.com/llms.txt. Last updated 7 November 2026.

# Use Mirth with AI assistants

> Everything an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Codex or Cursor needs to help a person with Mirth: where the plain text and Markdown docs are, what an assistant can and cannot do, and a snippet to paste into your own assistant.

Source: https://joinmirth.com/ai-assistants. Last updated 7 November 2026.

## Entry points

- [llms.txt](https://joinmirth.com/llms.txt): a short plain text map of Mirth for assistants, starting with instructions.
- [llms-full.txt](https://joinmirth.com/llms-full.txt): every guide and answer in one Markdown file.
- Markdown pages: add `.md` to any guide or answer URL, for example [/guides/get-started.md](https://joinmirth.com/guides/get-started.md). Each guide page also links its Markdown version.
- [Guides](https://joinmirth.com/guides): step by step guides for the main things members do.
- [Sitemap](https://joinmirth.com/sitemap.xml): every public page, including events and cities.
- Event pages include schema.org Event data, and this page and the answers include MobileApplication and FAQPage data.

## What there is not

Mirth has no public API, MCP server, CLI or SDK today, and no sandbox or test mode. An assistant helps a person by reading the public pages and guiding them through the website or the iPhone app, where they act as themselves.

## What an assistant can do

- Read public pages without an account: events, cities, how it works, safety, the FAQ, the code of conduct and the terms.
- Explain how booking, cancellations, refunds, check-ins, crews and hosting work, using the guides.
- Help a person choose an event at their level and send them the event link to book.
- Walk a person through creating an account, booking, cancelling, hosting or reporting a problem, step by step.

## What an assistant must never do

- Create an account, confirm someone's age, accept the event terms or the code of conduct, or pay on a person's behalf. These need the person, in the moment.
- Enter card details. Payments for paid events happen on a secure Flutterwave page that the person completes.
- Share another member's name, phone number, trusted contact or location outside Mirth.
- Book, cancel, host, report or block without the person's explicit go-ahead. Each of these affects real people.

## Paste this into your assistant

Add this to your assistant's custom instructions, a project, or an AGENTS.md file:

```
When I ask about Mirth (https://joinmirth.com), read https://joinmirth.com/llms.txt first and follow the Markdown guides it links.
Mirth has no public API or MCP server. Guide me through the website or the iPhone app; do not sign up, book, pay, cancel or report for me unless I say so in the moment.
Never share another member's details.
```

# Get Mirth and create an account

> Create a free Mirth account on the web, on iPhone or on Android, or join your city's email list without an account.

Source: https://joinmirth.com/guides/get-started. Last updated 7 November 2026.

## Before you start

- You must be 18 or over to join, host or attend.
- You need an email address. A password is optional: you can sign in with a one-time email code instead.
- Joining is free.

## Platforms

- Web: https://joinmirth.com in any modern browser, on a computer, an Android phone or an iPhone. Everything a member can do is available on the website.
- iPhone and iPad: the free Mirth app on the App Store, https://apps.apple.com/app/mirth-do-things-together/id6760980831, for iOS 16.4 or later.
- Android: there is no Android app on Google Play. Use https://joinmirth.com in Chrome or another browser.

## Create an account on the web (any computer, Android or iPhone)

1. Open https://joinmirth.com/sign-up.
2. Choose one of the three ways to sign up listed below.
3. Expected result: you land on your account page at https://joinmirth.com/account, which shows your name, your bookings and your invite link.

Ways to sign up on the web:

- Continue with Google or Apple.
- Fill in your name, email, a password of at least 10 characters and your city (or Choose later), tick "I am 18 or over", accept the terms, and select Create my account.
- Use an email code: enter your email, then type the code from the email. This creates your account the first time.

## Create an account in the iPhone app

1. Install Mirth from the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/mirth-do-things-together/id6760980831
2. Open the app and tap Get started.
3. Enter your email. The app sends a code, or you can use a password if you set one.
4. Type the code and finish the short onboarding: your city, what you like doing and your level.
5. Expected result: the Home tab shows events and ideas for your city.

The app and the website use the same account. Sign in with the same email on both.

## On Android

There is no Android app. Open https://joinmirth.com in Chrome and follow the web steps above. To keep it on your home screen, use Chrome's menu and choose Add to Home screen.

## Only want to hear when something is near you?

Open https://joinmirth.com/register (Join your city). Give your name, email, country, city, what you would like to do and your level, and tick the box so Mirth can email you. This does not create an account; create one when you want to book.

## Common errors

- "An account with this email already exists. Sign in instead, or use an email code.": go to https://joinmirth.com/sign-in.
- "Email or password is wrong.": try again, use Forgot password at https://joinmirth.com/forgot-password, or sign in with an email code.
- "That code is wrong or has expired. Check the latest email or ask for a new code.": use the most recent email; ask for a new code if needed. Check spam.
- "Too many wrong codes. Ask for a new code." or "Too many attempts. Wait a minute and try again.": wait a minute, then ask for a new code.
- "This sign-in link has expired or was already used. Ask for a new one.": start sign-in again.
- "We could not verify that sign-in. Try again or use an email code.": Google or Apple sign-in failed; use an email code.

## Confirm it worked

Open https://joinmirth.com/account. If you are signed in, you see your account page; if not, you are sent to sign in.

# Find and book an event on Mirth

> Find a walk, run or social on Mirth, book a place, pay for paid events and cancel if your plans change.

Source: https://joinmirth.com/guides/find-and-book-an-event. Last updated 7 November 2026.

## Before you start

- Browsing needs no account. Booking needs a Mirth account (see [Get started](https://joinmirth.com/guides/get-started.md)).
- Have a trusted contact ready: someone who should know where you are on the day, with a different phone number from yours.

## Find an event

- Web: open https://joinmirth.com/events for upcoming events, or https://joinmirth.com/cities and pick your city. Each city page shows member-hosted events, Ideas for The Usual and what else is on nearby.
- iPhone app: the Home tab shows your city's feed; tap an event to see it.
- Not sure where to start? The four-question quiz at https://joinmirth.com/type suggests a first event. It needs no sign-up.

Each event page shows the date, time, meeting point, level, group size, the host, the price (or that it is free) and what to bring.

## Book a place

1. Open the event and choose Book a place.
2. Add your mobile number (needed for activities so your host can reach you) and your trusted contact.
3. Accept the event terms and the code of conduct.
4. Free event: your place is confirmed. Paid event: you go to a secure Flutterwave page to pay. Mirth never sees your card details.
5. Expected result: the booking appears in your account under Bookings (https://joinmirth.com/account/bookings) or in the app.

If the event is full, you can join the waitlist and are offered a place if one opens.

## Cancel a booking

1. Open https://joinmirth.com/account/bookings (or your bookings in the app) and choose Cancel booking.
2. Confirm. The message tells you what happened to your money, for example "Cancelled. It was under 24 hours before the start, so there is no refund."

What happens to your money:

- More than 72 hours before the start: a full refund.
- Between 72 and 24 hours: credit for another event.
- Under 24 hours: no refund.
- If the host or Mirth cancels, for example for weather, you always get a full refund.

No-shows and very late cancellations lower your reliability score.

## Common errors

- "Accept the event terms and the code of conduct to book.": tick both boxes.
- "Add a trusted contact: someone who should know where you are on the day.": add one before booking.
- "Your trusted contact needs a different phone number from yours.": use someone else's number.
- "Bookings are closed": the event no longer takes bookings; pick another.
- Payment cancelled: no place is taken and nothing is charged; book again when ready.

## Confirm it worked

The event shows as Booked, and the booking is listed at https://joinmirth.com/account/bookings.

# On the day: check in, stay safe and say who you would go again with

> How check-ins, trusted contacts, debriefs and crews work at a Mirth event.

Source: https://joinmirth.com/guides/on-the-day. Last updated 7 November 2026.

## Before the event

Your host shares the route or venue, meeting point, transport, kit, a weather check at 72 and 24 hours, and a go or no-go call.

## Check in and check out

1. When the event starts, open your booking (https://joinmirth.com/account/bookings on the web, or your bookings in the app) and choose "Check in: I am here".
2. When you are done, choose "Check out: I am home safe".
3. If you miss the end check-in, your host is alerted first. If Mirth still cannot reach you 30 minutes later, your trusted contact is told and the team is asked to call.

Exact location is only asked for during an event window. It is encrypted and deleted 48 hours after the event.

## After the event: debrief

1. Within 7 days of the event, open the Debrief link on the booking.
2. Mark who you would happily go again with. Your picks are never shown to anyone.
3. You then see how many of your group want to go again with you, never who said no.

## Crews

People who say yes to each other across two or three events become a crew. A crew gets first refusal on the next slot, names itself after its third outing and can be found at https://joinmirth.com/account/crews.

## If something goes wrong

Use [Report a problem](https://joinmirth.com/report) or the report link on the event. Every report is read by a person; any removal is reviewed within 24 hours, and the most serious kinds, such as threats of violence, are reviewed within 1 hour. In an emergency, call the local emergency number first.

# Host an event on Mirth

> Apply to host on Mirth, pass the checks and publish a walk, run or social.

Source: https://joinmirth.com/guides/host-an-event. Last updated 7 November 2026.

## Who can host

Any member who is 18 or over and passes ID and phone checks. Harder activities need a matching leader qualification, which you declare. Hosts organise their own events and are responsible for them under the [host terms](https://joinmirth.com/host-terms); Mirth provides matching, booking, payments, check-ins and crews. Clubs and local businesses can apply as an organiser.

## Apply

1. Sign in, then open https://joinmirth.com/host (or Host in the app) and apply.
2. Add your ID check, verify your phone number and add any qualifications.
3. Expected result: Mirth reviews every application and emails you. The host page lists any checks still needed before an event can go live.

## Create an event

1. Once approved, open https://joinmirth.com/host/events/new, or tap Host this on any idea in the app, which comes prefilled.
2. Pick a slot, set the group size (from two people up to 500, or no limit for open socials with a confirmed venue), write the plan and set a price or keep it free.
3. An event only takes bookings once you are verified, have accepted the host terms, the difficulty matches your qualification and the size is within the cap.

## Money

Free events cost nothing to run. For paid events, Mirth collects payment when people book and keeps a 10% platform fee.

## Confirm it worked

Your event appears on your host dashboard at https://joinmirth.com/host and, once live, on the events and city pages.

# An app to meet people by joining small walking or running groups

> Mirth is a free app and website for joining walks, runs and socials hosted by verified members, at your level, on your own, and seeing the same people again if you want.

Source: https://joinmirth.com/answers/app-for-small-walking-and-running-groups. Last updated 7 November 2026.

## Short answer

Mirth is a community for doing things together. You join a walk, a run or a social hosted by a verified member, at your level, and you can come on your own. Hosts choose the group size, from two people to a big open social, and when Mirth suggests a group you can ask for small (up to 8), medium (up to 20) or big. After each event you can quietly say who you would go again with, and people who keep saying yes to each other become a crew.

## How it works

1. Join with your city, what you like doing and your level (beginner, intermediate or experienced).
2. Book an event on the website or in the iPhone app. Many events are free; paid events show the price before you book.
3. Check in at the start and the end, with a trusted contact you choose.
4. Mark who you would go again with. Your picks are never shown to anyone.

## Who it suits

- Adults who want to walk, run or go to socials with other people and would rather not go alone or join a large club.
- People who are coming on their own: a lone newcomer is never placed among people who all know each other already.
- Beginners: there are beginner-only events, and groups are made from people at the same level. There are women-only events too.

## Who it does not suit

- Anyone under 18.
- People looking for dating: Mirth is not a dating app, and there are no profiles to swipe.
- People who want guaranteed events in a particular place today: events are hosted by members, so what is on depends on who hosts near you. Check the city page first.

## Platforms available today

- Web: https://joinmirth.com in any modern browser, on a computer, an Android phone or an iPhone. Everything a member can do is available on the website.
- iPhone and iPad: the free Mirth app on the App Store, https://apps.apple.com/app/mirth-do-things-together/id6760980831, for iOS 16.4 or later.
- Android: there is no Android app on Google Play. Use https://joinmirth.com in Chrome or another browser.

## Common questions

### Is Mirth free?

Joining is free and many events are free. When an event has a price, it is shown before you book and you pay through Mirth on a secure Flutterwave page.

### Can I come on my own?

Yes. Mirth is built for people coming alone, and a lone newcomer is never placed among people who all know each other already.

### Do I need to be fit or experienced?

No. You choose your level and groups are made from people at the same level. There are beginner-only events too.

### Is Mirth on Android?

Not as an app. On Android, use https://joinmirth.com in your browser, which has everything a member can do.

# How to do regular activities with the same people after moving somewhere new

> On Mirth, The Usual is the same simple plan at the same time each week, and crews form when people say they would go again with each other.

Source: https://joinmirth.com/answers/regular-activities-with-the-same-people-after-moving. Last updated 7 November 2026.

## Short answer

Meeting people once is easy; seeing them again is the hard part. Mirth is designed for the second and third time. The Usual is the same simple plan at the same time each week, so you can see the same faces again if you want. After each event you mark who you would happily go again with, and people who say yes to each other across two or three events become a crew, with first refusal on the next slot.

## How to start after a move

1. Join Mirth with your new city. Sign-ups are open in every country.
2. Open your city page from https://joinmirth.com/cities to see member-hosted events, Ideas for The Usual and what else is on nearby.
3. Book something at your level and go on your own if you like.
4. Go back to the same Usual, and do the debrief each time so Mirth can keep you with the people you liked.
5. If nothing is on yet near you, any approved member can host The Usual in their own city. See [Host an event](https://joinmirth.com/guides/host-an-event.md).

## Who it suits

- Adults new to an area who want a regular plan with familiar faces.
- People who prefer doing something together, such as a walk, a run or a games night, to small talk at a mixer.

## Who it does not suit

- Anyone under 18.
- Anyone who wants an instant, fixed group in a place where no one hosts yet: groups form as local members join and host.

### What is The Usual?

The same simple plan at the same time each week, hosted by a member, so you can see the same people again if you want.

### How do crews work?

After each event you mark who you would happily go again with. When people say yes to each other across two or three events, they become a crew and get first refusal on the next slot. You see how many want to go again with you, never who said no.

### Which places can I join?

Any city, in any country. Each city's groups open as local members join and host.
